Ring of Roses!

We have just had the most bonkers day... great show though! We have had the pleasure of heading up the Tewkesbury arts festival, which is a fantastic oppurtunity so we were determined to make it one to remember. Because the festival is kicking off there are numerous events going on. A Live broadcast from the theatre for the BBC, Lunchtime medieval concerts, coffee mornings and of course us. In preparation for this special day the Good God of cleaning specially shampooed the carpets. Lovely and clean and sweet smelling they were still soggy at ten o'clock. Being the good company manager I am I popped out to say hello to box office and marketing and all the other unsung heroes of our industry. The Foyer (the only room in the building to escape from the shampoo demon) was ashawm with medieval music, as they were warming up there, people trying to organise somewhere dry for their coffee morning, the girls at box office bemused but coping sent me upstairs to find the marketing manager. First of all though I cam accross the BBC mob, doing a weather report standing on orange crates. as you do when the ground is soggy I guess. The lovely marketing lady had the look of 'done hysteria, now I shall just survive minute by minute by drinking warm hot tea' greated me with 'are the cast here?!' they were stuck in swindon with an ETA of 11ish. I was expecting the 'we are ten mins away' phonecall any minute. Instead I got the 'we are stuck in traffic' phonecall. "Right then" Mr. BBC said, "Its going to be you then!" as Someone ran down to find MrPhillipSnozeberry to join me in this live interview. We came out unscathed, resisted the urge to be tooo Honest and had a good giggle, however lights don't focus themselves so back we went to the stage to find the lovely medieval musicians had moved into the auditorium to rehearse. We usally work to the sountrack of baywatch, so it was a little bit of a culture shock. After lunch things calmed down, the carpet dried, the BBC people ran 2 miles for fun, the musicians I presume went off to their gig and we did our show fabulously cos we are like that. Bonkers day though!

Did you know that the Roses in Tewkesbury is famous for the fact that the great Eric Morecambe died in the wings. True fact. Why can I remember things like that and forget peoples names as soon as they have been introduced to me?
